Teton XC Series is a mag drive pond pump for ponds, koi ponds, waterfalls, skimmers, fountain basins, and aquaponics systems. It is an amphibious pump: it can be installed fully submersed at the pond bottom or in a skimmer box, or in-line outside the water in an external filter housing or pump vault.
A sealed electromagnet in the motor housing drives a magnetically coupled impeller, which is the only moving part. With no direct mechanical connection between the motor and impeller, there is no shaft seal to wear and no oil in contact with the water. The impeller is replaceable. SmartMAG® motor protection monitors for dry-running: if the water level drops too low, the pump shuts down automatically and restarts once water returns.
As a submersible pond pump, the XC sits at the pond bottom or in a skimmer; keep enough water above the intake to prevent dry-running. For in-line use, feed the pump by gravity or a flooded suction connection. The moveable footplate adjusts orientation, and the NPT threaded inlet and outlet accept standard plumbing in both configurations. The large intake screen helps reduce clogging.
Six magnetic drive pond pump models range from 1,500 to 5,900 GPH, with maximum head from 14 to 22.25 ft and power draw from 45 to 290 W. Inlets are 1 in or 1-1/2 in FPT and outlets 1 in to 2 in FPT depending on model, covering small water features up to a waterfall pump for larger ponds. All models have a 32 ft power cord, are intended for fresh water, and carry a 2-year limited warranty.
Installation Options
XC Series can be installed in two ways: (1) Submersed at the pond bottom or inside a skimmer box — the most common installation; (2) Inline above water in an external filter housing or pump vault, with water fed by gravity or a flooded suction connection. Use the moveable footplate to adjust orientation. NPT threaded connections suit both configurations. For submersed installation, maintain adequate depth above the intake to prevent dry-running.
