Teton XT Ecostream Series External Centrifugal Pumps are built for pond and water feature systems that need high flow, dependable pressure, and easy long-term service access. Designed for large koi ponds, waterfalls, streams, fountains, and professional filtration systems, XT Series moves large water volume without placing the pump inside the pond.
External installation is the defining advantage. No reaching into the water at maintenance time. No pulling the pump from the pond floor. XT Series mounts outside — on a solid foundation at or below pond water level — where it can be inspected, serviced, or replaced without disturbing the water or the fish.
The enclosed, fan-cooled motor manages operating temperatures reliably during continuous 24/7 use. Built-in thermal overload protection automatically guards the motor under heavy or sustained load conditions. A polypropylene wet end, Noryl plastic impeller, stainless steel hardware, and carbon graphite mechanical seal deliver corrosion resistance built for long-term outdoor operation.
NPT threaded intake and discharge ports with included union fittings make installation clean and future servicing simple — disconnect, service, reconnect. Permanently lubricated ball bearings require no routine maintenance. Available in six models from 3,500 to 8,000 GPH, with dual voltage (115V/230V) on most models. Backed by a 2-year limited warranty.
Installation Guide
The XT Ecostream is a standard centrifugal pump requiring flooded-suction installation — the pump must be installed at or below the pond water level. It is NOT self-priming. If self-priming is required, see the XTP Ecostream Series. Key installation points:
- Mount on a flat, solid, stable foundation outside the pond — covered and well-ventilated location is best; motor must not be submerged
- Flooded suction required — if installed above water level, a swing check valve must be installed and the pump manually primed before start-up (no spring-loaded check valves)
- Use plastic fittings with Teflon paste; support all plumbing to prevent strain on the pump housing and fittings
- Minimise elbows, valves, and restrictions on both intake and discharge — use adequate pipe diameter for the target flow rate
- Always shut off electrical power before installation or servicing — ground the motor before connecting to power supply
- Motor bearings are permanently lubricated — no routine lubrication required
- Inspect mechanical seal periodically; replace every 3–4 years in fresh water; annually in salt water
- Drain completely before freezing temperatures — freezing damage voids the warranty
